January in Dubai
Dubai Marina and JBR are for beach mornings and restaurant evenings, with a walkable waterfront and family-friendly hotels. Downtown Dubai puts the Burj Khalifa, the fountains and the malls at your door, convenient and spectacular but not a place for wandering. Old Dubai, around Al Fahidi and Deira, is the historic creek side: markets, abras and cheaper food, with a very different pace.
