November in Florence
The Duomo area is the most convenient base for a first trip: everything on the classic list is walkable. Santa Croce and Sant'Ambrogio are Florence at table: markets, leather workshops and fewer crowds, ten minutes east of the cathedral. Oltrarno, across the river, is quieter and more romantic, with the Pitti Palace, Santo Spirito and a genuinely local evening.
