July in Munich
The Altstadt and Lehel put the Marienplatz, the Residenz and the English Garden on foot, at the highest prices. Maxvorstadt is the museum quarter: quieter, greener and better value, with the Pinakotheken and the university nearby. Glockenbach and Isarvorstadt are where Munich goes out, with small bars, international food and a younger, more alternative crowd.
