October in Amsterdam
The Centrum is the simplest first base if you want museums, canals and restaurants within walking distance. The Jordaan trades a little convenience for prettier streets and quieter nights. Oost is the local, family-friendly answer: more space, better value and a short tram or metro ride to the centre.
