June in Tokyo
For a first trip, Shinjuku is the simplest machine: trains, food and neon until late. Asakusa buys you old Tokyo and lower rates. Ginza is the calm, polished choice; Ueno is the practical one for museums, kids and day trips.
Summer
The rainy season (tsuyu) usually falls around early summer, so keep indoor plans in reserve and pack for damp days. After it passes, the heat and humidity can be draining, and festival season plus school holidays add to the crowds. Early mornings and evenings tend to be the kindest hours for walking.
Spring and autumn are the most requested seasons, and hotel rates tend to follow: book early if cherry blossoms or autumn colours are the plan. Summer is hot and humid, with school holidays and festival crowds making the city feel fuller. Winter is cooler and quieter in some districts, though year-end illuminations keep the popular areas busy.
